Why can't I email reports? (iOS)

Why sending report emails may fail and how to quickly resolve for iOS Users

Why This Happens

Mileage Quest does not send emails independently. Instead, it relies on Apple’s built-in Mail app (iOS Mail) to initiate and deliver outbound messages.

If any of the following conditions exist, report delivery will fail:

  • The native Mail app is not installed on the device

  • No email account is configured within the Mail app

  • The configured email account is not authenticated or synced

In these scenarios, selecting Email Report will either do nothing or fail to open a send prompt.

Recommended Fix

Step 1: Confirm Mail App Is Installed

  1. From your iPhone home screen, search for Mail.

  2. If not installed:

    • Open the App Store

    • Search for Mail (Apple)

    • Download and install

Step 2: Add an Email Account to Mail

  1. Open Phone Settings

  2. Scroll down and select AppsMail

  3. Tap Mail Accounts

  4. Select Add Account

  5. Choose your provider (Google, Outlook, Exchange, etc.)

  6. Enter your credentials and complete setup

Step 3: Confirm Account Is Active

  1. Open the Mail app

  2. Send a quick test email to yourself

  3. If successful, return to Mileage Quest and resend the report
